About the role
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida seeks an Assistant Professor to develop and teach courses in the mathematical and computational foundations of artificial intelligence. The appointment is tenure‑track and begins in August 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain an active, funded research program in AI foundations.
- Supervise graduate and undergraduate research projects.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics and AI.
- Contribute to departmental service, curriculum development, and outreach.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field.
- Established research record with a compelling future plan.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
- Ability to mentor both graduate and undergraduate students.
