About the role

The Carleton Psychology Department invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in Developmental Psychology, beginning September 1 2027. The role involves teaching, mentoring undergraduate researchers, and contributing to the department’s scholarly community.

Key responsibilities

• Teach five courses per year across Carleton’s trimester system, including introductory psychology, statistics, and mid‑level developmental courses.
• Develop and lead research laboratory classes with hands‑on methods instruction.
• Design and supervise upper‑level seminars in the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Mentor undergraduate students in independent research projects.
• Participate in departmental service, curriculum development, and faculty governance.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Psychology (completed by September 2027 or already earned).
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching and ability to engage a diverse undergraduate body.
• Research interests aligned with social, personality, or identity development in children.
• Strong communication skills and a record of scholarly productivity.
