Assistant Professor – Higher Education (Tenure‑Track)

About the role
The School of Education at the University of Southern Mississippi seeks two tenure‑track Assistant Professors in Higher Education to begin in August 2026. Faculty will teach fully online, synchronous graduate courses and contribute to the School’s research and service missions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver graduate courses for the MEd and EdD programs in an online synchronous format.
- Engage in innovative teaching practices and supervise doctoral capstone projects.
- Conduct original research in higher education and/or student affairs, seeking external funding.
- Participate in service activities at the program, school, college, and university levels.
- Build relationships with community partners to enhance program outreach.
Required profile
- Doctoral degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field (by August 2026).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Experience teaching online, supervising graduate research, and pursuing external funding.
- Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
