Assistant Professor & Assistant Dean

About the role

The Assistant Professor & Assistant Dean in the School of Architecture will support the Dean in senior administrative functions while teaching architecture and construction science courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Key responsibilities

• Manage budgets, supervise staff, implement policies, and act as the Dean’s representative as needed.
• Support curriculum development, maintain program quality, and oversee accreditation processes (NAAB, ACCE).
• Address student academic and behavioral matters, promoting success and retention.
• Assist with faculty hiring, promotion, tenure, mentoring, and other personnel actions.
• Contribute to research initiatives, grant activities, and college‑wide projects.
• Teach a minimum of two courses each semester.

Required profile

• Terminal degree in Architecture, Construction Science, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Familiarity with NAAB and ACCE accreditation processes.
• Record of research, grant acquisition, and professional service.

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction practices, sustainability, and industry applications.
• Experience in curriculum development and program quality assurance.
