Assistant Manager – New Ventures

About the role

The New Ventures Assistant Manager supports the creation and growth of startup companies that commercialize intellectual property owned or developed by the Texas A&M University System. Working under direction, the role bridges internal innovation teams and external partners to move promising technologies toward market readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Identify emerging technologies suitable for commercialization through outreach to faculty and research teams.
• Collaborate with New Ventures and Licensing teams to conduct due‑diligence analyses, including market opportunity and competitive landscape assessments.
• Prepare formal business plans, due‑diligence memorandums, and other documentation required to launch new startups.
• Assist in drafting equity‑related documents such as stock agreements, convertible notes, SAFEs, and investor term sheets.
• Track the new‑ventures pipeline from pre‑formation through scale‑up and ensure accurate reporting.
