Assistant Engineering Manager

About the role

This position is for an Assistant Engineering Manager based in the United States, supporting complex civil engineering projects across energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. You will lead technical design activities, mentor multidisciplinary teams, and ensure high‑quality project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support civil engineering tasks such as site grading, drainage, access road design, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, quality reviews, and deliverable development.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and technical staff, fostering professional growth.
• Prepare proposals, develop scopes, and coordinate budgets with multiple engineering disciplines.
• Review calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure successful execution.
• Conduct field assessments, site visits, construction‑phase services, bid support, and contractor coordination.
• Support quality assurance, peer review processes, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Maintain client relationships through effective communication and proactive problem‑solving.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant civil engineering experience, preferably in infrastructure, energy, environmental, or industrial projects.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred; multi‑state licensure or reciprocity is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, design practices, permitting processes, and project delivery methods.
• Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
