About the role

Springer Nature is seeking an Assistant Editor to support its journal portfolio in New York. Working in a hybrid setting, you will help ensure a smooth, high-quality peer-review process and uphold the publisher’s editorial standards.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with journal Editors to provide authors with guidance throughout submission and review.
• Manage editorial pipelines, tracking manuscripts from initial submission to final decision while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct initial manuscript assessments for completeness, policy adherence, and workflow readiness.
• Support Editors during peer review, facilitating reviewer selection, communication, and decision documentation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to editorial policies, publishing standards, and compliance requirements.
