About the role
The University of Miami is seeking an Assistant Director to lead its Start Abroad programs for first‑year, spring‑admitted students. This role combines program administration, student advising, and outreach to ensure a smooth and enriching study‑abroad experience for newcomers.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate logistics, administration, and execution of Start Abroad programs.
- Support recruitment, outreach, and marketing efforts, including print materials, website content, social‑media, and multimedia.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students and their families throughout the application and participation process.
- Advise students on program selection, admissions, academic planning, and personal development.
- Review applications, participate in candidate selection, and conduct interviews or screenings.
- Maintain program records, track enrollment metrics, and collaborate with campus and international partners.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in education, international studies, or a related field.
- Experience in study‑abroad administration, international education, or student services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work with diverse student populations and families.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
