Assistant Director of Finance

About the role

The Assistant Director of Finance will support the Director of Finance in overseeing all accounting and finance functions for the newly re‑opened Delano Miami Beach hotel. This position ensures accurate, timely financial reporting and helps drive operational efficiencies across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Direct day‑to‑day accounting operations, including full‑cycle month‑end close and financial statement preparation.
• Perform complex account analysis, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting.
• Maintain data integrity and develop system controls, SOPs, and process improvements.
• Support implementation and upgrades of front‑of‑house systems that affect financial reporting.
• Assist with planning, recruiting, hiring, training, and development of the finance and accounting team.
• Manage payroll entries, coordinate with HR and payroll providers, and support year‑end audits.
• Monitor budget compliance, cost‑control measures, and provide financial guidance to operational leaders.
• Ensure proper maintenance of legal, treasury, tax documentation and compliance with statutory reporting obligations.

Required profile

• Proven experience with full‑cycle month‑end close and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Strong background in complex account analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience supervising and developing accounting staff.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and year‑end audit support.
• Ability to maintain compliance with legal, treasury and tax requirements.
