Assistant Director - Convention Sales

About the role

The Assistant Director – Convention Sales leads the small‑groups sales team at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, executing direct sales strategies to meet and exceed financial objectives. This position reports to senior sales leadership and ensures all activities align with resort policies and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage a team of 8‑9 Sales Managers, including hiring recommendations and performance reviews.
• Coach sales managers on selling philosophies, strategies, systems, and techniques, creating individualized development plans.
• Monitor team compliance with customer service standards, departmental policies, and safety requirements.
• Develop and approve rate‑yield strategies for key trade shows to drive revenue growth.
• Maintain accurate forecasts, bookings pace, business plans, and expense budgets.
• Review and approve group business opportunities and contracts within defined thresholds.
• Represent the team at major trade and travel functions and accompany members on client site visits.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
