About the role
The Assistant Data Manager supports the State of Georgia’s HIV counseling, testing, and prevention services by overseeing daily operations of the electronic data capture system. This federally‑grant‑funded position ensures high‑quality, real‑time data that meets CDC and state requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the flow of electronic and paper HIV testing data from all health districts and sites.
- Monitor data‑quality dashboards, identify errors or missing information, and work with district staff to correct them.
- Assist the Data Manager with routine data quality checks, summary reports, and performance snapshots.
- Perform basic data analysis, generating tables, charts, and summary metrics for regular reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring accuracy and proper formatting.
- Develop data visualizations and presentation materials for internal meetings and leadership updates.
- Serve as the first point of contact for data entry staff, providing technical support and troubleshooting.
- Escalate complex system or data‑quality issues to the Data Manager and coordinate with IT or vendors.
- Deliver onboarding, refresher training, and technical assistance to district staff and new users.
- Maintain site IDs, user accounts, permissions, and site profiles within the electronic system.
- Ensure compliance with data security, confidentiality, and privacy standards.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in public health, public administration, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience working with health data or data management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills for training and stakeholder interaction.
