Assistant Controller

About the role

DO & CO is seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant Controller to join its Miami team. This role supports the finance function of a global hospitality and catering business, helping to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review weekly, monthly, and quarterly Excel‑based financial and operational reports.
• Analyze monthly profit and loss statements and support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes, including inventory close.
• Develop monthly and quarterly forecasts, budgets, and financial plans.
• Identify significant variances, communicate operational impact, and recommend actions to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Partner with Production, Culinary, Procurement, and Operations to assess costs, evaluate inventory, and track waste management performance.
• Maintain internal controls, ensure compliance with accounting procedures, and support cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition activities.
• Build strong relationships with internal departments, vendors, auditors, and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial analysis.
• Experience in hospitality, catering, food service, or a high‑volume operational environment is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex report preparation and analysis.
