Assistant Community Manager (San Jose Gardens)

About the role

The Assistant Community Manager will support the Community Manager in the day‑to‑day financial and operational management of the San Jose Gardens community. This entry‑level position involves handling accounting tasks, rent collection, invoicing and using property‑management software to keep the community’s finances accurate and up‑to‑date.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and post rent, fees and other resident payments; prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile accounts.
• Process vendor invoices, code charges to the appropriate chart of accounts and coordinate approvals.
• Prepare monthly close‑out reports, financial statements and other required reports.
• Operate Yardi/OneSite software, ensuring data integrity through accurate entry and regular backups.
• Review resident files for delinquent balances, communicate with residents and enforce lease terms to maximize revenue.
• Maintain compliance with HUD Project‑Based Section 8 program requirements.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in property‑management accounting or a related field.
• Familiarity with HUD Section 8 compliance and residential leasing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple financial tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Yardi or OneSite property‑management software.
• Basic accounting and bookkeeping knowledge.
