Assistant Community Manager – Hampton, VA

About the role

The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the Ellipse Urban Apartments community in Hampton, VA. This position handles day‑to‑day accounting, rent collection, invoice processing, and financial reporting using property‑management software.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and post rent, fees, and other resident payments; prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile accounts.
• Process invoices from vendors and contractors, code charges to the appropriate Chart of Accounts, and obtain Community Manager approval.
• Prepare monthly close‑out reports, financial statements, and other required financial documentation.
• Operate Yardi/OneSite software, ensuring accurate data entry, system updates, and backups.
• Review resident files for unpaid or late fees, communicate with residents about balances, and enforce lease terms to maximize revenue.
• Assist with eviction procedures, including notice requirements, court representation, and resident move‑out processing.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented individual capable of handling multiple financial transactions accurately.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ability to follow established company policies and procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Yardi or OneSite property‑management software.
