Assistant Community Manager (Finance & Operations)

About the role

The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of a residential community. This position handles daily accounting tasks, rent collection, invoicing, and ensures accurate financial reporting using property‑management software.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and post rent, fees, and other resident payments; prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile accounts.
• Process invoices and payables, code charges to the appropriate Chart of Accounts, and coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Operate Yardi/OneSite software, entering transactions accurately and maintaining system integrity through updates and backups.
• Review resident files for unpaid or late fees, communicate balances, and enforce lease terms to maximize revenue.
• Handle eviction procedures, including notice requirements, court representation, and related documentation.
• Manage resident move‑out processes, applying lease terms, deposit deductions, and related fees.
• Prepare monthly close‑out reports and other financial statements for the community.

Required profile

• Experience in property‑management accounting or a similar financial operations role.
• Familiarity with rent collection, invoicing, bank reconciliations, and lease enforcement.
• Ability to interact with residents, vendors, and legal processes such as evictions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
