Assistant Athletics Trainer (Student-Athlete Health)

About the role

The Department of Athletics at Georgetown University seeks an Assistant Athletics Trainer to support student‑athlete health and wellness. Working under the Associate Athletics Director, you will provide immediate injury care, rehabilitation, and emergency response on campus.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial injury and illness evaluations, referrals, and follow‑up assessments for student‑athletes.
• Provide wound care, injury treatment, taping, bracing, and over‑the‑counter medication management.
• Deliver emergency cardiac care using an AED and other emergency interventions.
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records and injury documentation.
• Adhere to Sports Medicine Policies, Procedures, and the NATA Code of Professional Conduct.
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Current NATA Board of Certification (BOC) certification.
• Eligibility for District of Columbia Athletic Training licensure.
• Ability to work confidently in crisis or emergency situations.
• Strong knowledge of NCAA regulations, university policies, and safety practices.
• Valid driver’s license with a good, insurable record.
• Availability to work weekends as needed.
