Assistant Athletic Trainer

About the role

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore seeks a dedicated Assistant Athletic Trainer to join its sports medicine team. Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, you will provide preventive, emergency, and rehabilitative care for varsity student‑athletes and support the overall health of the athletic program.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first aid, injury assessment, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation to all student‑athletes.
• Apply taping, wrapping, and protective equipment to ensure safe participation.
• Assist in daily operations of the Athletic Training Room alongside the Head Athletic Trainer.
• Collaborate with physicians to evaluate wellness and determine athletes' readiness to return to play.
• Provide on‑site treatments during practices, games, and travel.
• Work weekends, evenings, holidays, and travel with collegiate teams as required.
