Assistant Architect

About the role

John Furth Peachy, Architect is a boutique six‑person architectural and consulting firm located in Tribeca, NYC. The practice focuses on converting former manufacturing buildings into mixed‑use and residential projects throughout Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, handling design, documentation, and municipal filings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare construction and filing documents for municipal agencies such as the Department of Buildings, Loft Board, and Landmarks Preservation Commission.
• Take site measurements and develop architectural drawings from sketches.
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, sprinkler, and fire‑alarm consultants to integrate their systems into the design.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• 1‑3 years of architectural experience with a strong interest in licensure.
• Detail‑oriented with solid writing, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Interest in building codes, zoning, energy codes, and climate‑change considerations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Competence with Microsoft Word and related office software.
