Asset Artist – Real‑time Unreal Engine Specialist

About the role

AGBO is looking for an experienced Asset Artist to join its VFX team and create high‑quality real‑time assets for Unreal Engine‑based projects. The role is temporary with the possibility of extension, and candidates can work remotely but preference is given to those able to work onsite in Los Angeles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop CG assets—including characters, environments, vehicles and props—that match realistic practical looks while meeting production schedules.
• Collaborate with pipeline, VAD and lighting teams to ingest, optimize and integrate assets into Unreal Engine projects.
• Create and document custom materials, procedural shaders, control rigs and other technical solutions for real‑time use.
• Research and apply the latest Unreal Engine advancements to accelerate asset creation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience creating real‑time content for games or VFX.
• Strong artistic eye for detail, anatomy, proportion, lighting and composition.
• Ability to work in multiple art styles, follow direction and meet deadlines.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Unreal Engine (asset creation, material authoring, lighting, sequencer, virtual cameras).
• DCC tools: Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Houdini, Blender.
• Real‑time optimization techniques for meshes, textures and shaders.
• Rigging and control rig creation in DCC and Unreal Engine.
• Photogrammetry and 3D scanning workflows.
