Assembly/Harnessing Technician – Manufacturing

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group in Chatsworth, CA is seeking an Assembly/Harnessing Technician to join its Manufacturing Assembly and Test team. You will work on‑site on first shift, assembling high‑reliability chassis and final products while collaborating closely with engineering and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble chassis and final assemblies using circuit cards, stand‑offs, wire harnesses, solder, crimping tools, and mechanical instruments.
• Perform high‑reliability soldering and crimping on complex sub‑assemblies, repair circuit boards, jumper wires, and wire harnesses.
• Interpret assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, and test specifications.
• Follow Electro‑Static Discharge (ESD) procedures and maintain required cleanliness levels.
• Run harnessing tasks and work with motion‑control pointing mechanisms.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering to diagnose issues and propose rework.
• Innovate testing procedures and suggest worksheet improvements.
• Maintain traceability records, MDC forms, and configuration documentation.
• Support repair units and travel to customer facilities when needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training valued.
• 5+ years of electrical assembly and soldering experience.
• Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., aerospace, medical devices).
• J‑STD solder certification required; NASA certification preferred.
• Ability to work directly from engineering drawings and written instructions.
