Assembly & Test Technician II – 1st Shift

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking an Assembly & Test Technician II for the 1st shift (6:00 am‑2:30 pm) at its Torrance, CA facility. The role focuses on precision assembly and testing of hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical flight actuators used in advanced military aircraft such as the F‑35 and V‑280.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly of complex production and repair actuators following detailed blueprints and work instructions.
• Adjust and align components using shims, torque wrenches, fixtures and other mechanical methods.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment (dial indicators, calipers, micrometers) to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Conduct functional and performance tests on hydraulic and electromechanical actuators and document results.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical or test failures, applying corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) with at least 3 years of assembly experience in mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic environments.
• Experience in the aerospace industry and familiarity with FAA safety‑sensitive positions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Basic computer proficiency (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Eligibility to obtain a security clearance; FAA A&P certification is a plus.
