Assembly Builder – Industrial Electric Motors

About the role

ABB is hiring an Assembly Builder (Assembler-3) to support its production unit in meeting set production targets by following the established systems and processes. The role is onsite and reports to the Production Supervisor. It involves assembling industrial electric motors and components on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble industrial electric motors and components (stators, rotors, bearings, housings, wiring) while making electrical connections, routing leads and reading schematics to ensure proper insulation, grounding and functionality.
• Perform quality checks and functional testing (hi-pot, continuity, balance), identify defects and carry out rework or troubleshooting with quality and engineering teams.
• Operate assembly tools (torque tools, presses, hand tools) safely and accurately, maintain equipment calibration and support production flow, line balancing and cross-department coordination.
• Track production data and work orders, follow SOPs and safety standards, keep a clean 5S-compliant workspace and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; at least 6 months of industrial manufacturing experience or equivalent military service.
• Technical or vocational training may be considered in place of experience; motor assembly experience preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend and reach repeatedly, wear PPE, operate machinery for long periods and work in a noisy, temperature-variable manufacturing environment.
• Willing to work any shift as needed.

• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
