Assembler I – Manufacturing Assembly & Test

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group in Salt Lake City is seeking an Assembler I to join the Manufacturing Assembly and Test team. You will work onsite on a 9/80 first‑shift schedule, contributing to the production of complex electrical and mechanical components for motion‑control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret electronic assembly/work instructions, blueprints, and parts lists.
• Gather parts, sub‑assemblies, tools, and materials to prepare work stations.
• Assemble components using hand tools, ensuring correct fit and proper fastening.
• Measure and inspect assemblies throughout the process to meet specifications.
• Report issues, malfunctions, or defective parts and keep accurate production records.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment in compliance with procedures and regulations.
• Support other assembly teams and projects as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent formal training.
• Prior experience assembling complex electrical/mechanical components (preferred).
• Experience with mechanical parts, components, or controls (preferred).
• Basic/intermediate computer skills and basic math abilities.
• Technical knowledge to read blueprints, drawings, and assembly instructions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools (sockets, screwdrivers, torque tools, wrenches).
• Blueprint and technical drawing reading.
• Basic computer operation.
