Assembler - 2nd Shift

About the role

ABB is hiring an assembler for its production line in Flowery Branch, Georgia, working the second shift. The position reports to the Production Supervisor and is onsite. The work involves assembling and building electric motors and subassemblies, testing them, preparing finished products for shipment and maintaining the equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and build electric motors and subassemblies by installing rotors, stators, brackets, brush rigging, cable caps, brakes, tachometers, blower motors and other accessories according to specifications.
• Test, inspect and troubleshoot motors by performing routine electrical and mechanical tests, completing required documentation and correcting defects found during assembly or testing.
• Finish and prepare products for shipment by machining and fitting components, painting to customer requirements, applying nameplates, labels and warning tags, doing final inspections and crating motors.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on assembly equipment, following safe factory practices and applying knowledge of motor assembly techniques and basic shop mathematics.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of industrial or military experience, or vocational/technical education.
• Motor manufacturing experience preferred; prior leadership experience preferred, with the ability to set high performance standards for self and others.
• Adaptable, highly organized and detail-oriented, willing to cross-train, with a positive, team-focused attitude.
• Valid U.S. work authorization; must pass a background and drug screen.
• Regular attendance and availability for overtime are essential.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to read, speak and write English at a level sufficient for a safe work environment.
