Art Handler for Exhibitions and Operations

About the role

The Collections Management department seeks an experienced Art Handler to support exhibitions, gallery rotations, and daily operations. You will be responsible for the safe handling, packing, transport, and installation of artworks while ensuring compliance with conservation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and install special exhibitions and coordinate gallery rotations.
• Pack, transport, and unpack artwork using appropriate conservation‑appropriate methods.
• Operate lifts, hand and power fabrication tools, and other material‑handling equipment.
• Read and interpret exhibition designers’ layouts to ensure accurate placement.
• Maintain and organize art storage areas and assist with procurement processes.

Required profile

• Considerable knowledge of art installation, conservation‑appropriate handling, packing, and storage practices.
• Significant project‑management experience, preferably with Asana or similar software.
• Proficiency in reading exhibition designers’ layouts and operating material‑handling equipment.
• Good judgment, flexibility, and ability to adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines.
