Area Director – Restaurant Operations

About the role

The Area Director leads a group of Raising Cane’s restaurants in the Chicago area, driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence. This field‑based leader works closely with the Area Business Unit team to ensure each restaurant delivers on the brand’s vision and performance goals.

Key responsibilities

• Inspire and guide restaurant crewmembers, fostering a high‑performing culture.
• Direct day‑to‑day restaurant operations, aligning activities with Raising Cane’s mission and core values.
• Collaborate with marketing, training, recruiting and growth leaders to execute area‑wide initiatives.
• Develop and implement operational plans that support sales‑driven, profit‑smart objectives.
• Train restaurant leaders on crew appreciation programs and operational standards.
• Maintain full financial accountability for the area, including budgeting, EBITDAR management, and performance reporting.
• Identify gaps and provide targeted support from the Business Unit team to achieve desired results.
• Oversee area marketing efforts, community involvement, and sponsorships.
• Lead area training activities, assist under‑performing locations, certify training restaurants, and evaluate rollout effectiveness.

Required profile

• Field‑based leader with accountability for multiple restaurant locations.
• Ability to deliver near‑term results while creating sustainable long‑term value.
• Comfort working in fast‑paced kitchen environments that require physical exertion and adherence to safety protocols.
• Strong human‑capital management skills, capable of developing and retaining talent.
