About the role
The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking an Archives Intern to support the Research Department. This part‑time, onsite internship offers hands‑on experience preserving and organizing historical materials that document the Bank’s legacy.
Key responsibilities
- Arrange, preserve, and describe textual and audiovisual materials.
- Conduct inventories of items and collections.
- Catalog and scan documents and photographs.
- Assist with other archival tasks as assigned.
Required profile
- Current student or recent graduate, preferably in archives management or public history.
- Working knowledge of basic archival principles (arrangement, description, preservation).
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks.
- Experience with audiovisual materials is a plus.

- Hourly compensation ranging from $18 to $36 based on education level and experience.
- Opportunity to work on real archival collections dating from the 1860s to present.
- Potential extension into the fall semester.
