Architectural Designer – Design & Restoration

About the role

R.J. Heisenbottle Architects, P.A. is looking for an Architectural Designer to contribute to a variety of projects ranging from historic preservation to new construction. The role involves creating detailed design documentation, conducting field investigations, and ensuring compliance with the Florida Building Code.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed working drawings for new construction and historic restoration projects.
• Develop architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed furniture or casework drawings.
• Conduct field investigations, site surveys, and measure existing conditions for design alterations.
• Review contract architect and engineer plans for code compliance.
• Perform construction administration duties, including field inspections and reporting.
• Maintain and update construction drawings and specifications.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Architecture.
• Three to five years of relevant architectural experience.
• Fully competent in conventional architectural design and documentation.
• Ability to produce construction‑ready documents for contractors and permitting agencies.
• Knowledge of the Florida Building Code.
