Architect/Designer

About the role

OMA New York is seeking an experienced Architect/Designer to lead the design of diverse spaces—including public, commercial, hospitality and residential projects—from concept through construction. The role involves close collaboration with project leaders, design teams and external consultants to shape project narratives and deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strong concepts, narratives and design strategies in consultation with partners and clients.
• Lead projects through all phases: programming, concept development, documentation and construction.
• Create design options using 3‑D modeling and visualization tools.
• Coordinate technical documentation and supervise realization with internal teams and external consultants.
• Consider materials, costs and budgets while delivering design solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 5 years of post‑graduate architectural experience.
• Strong conceptual, graphic and design talent demonstrated in a portfolio.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, international environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Rhino.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Rendering skills with Enscape and/or V‑ray.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
