Architect – Workplace, Retail & Adaptive Reuse Projects

About the role

This position offers an experienced architect the chance to lead complex workplace, high‑end retail and large‑scale adaptive‑reuse projects for public‑sector clients. You will combine creative design with rigorous technical execution, ensuring code‑compliant, sustainable environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all project phases from programming and conceptual design through construction documentation and close‑out.
• Conduct programming activities to translate client needs into clear design concepts and space plans.
• Develop design solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality and constructability while responding to site conditions.
• Perform ADA and building‑code reviews and coordinate with MEP and other engineering disciplines.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and construction documents using Revit and related tools.
• Manage permitting processes, respond to plan‑check comments and collaborate with authorities.
• Select and coordinate furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) in line with design intent and budget.
• Review submittals, shop drawings and product data, and provide timely feedback.
• Respond to RFIs during construction and support punch‑list and as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• Architect with solid experience leading workplace, retail or adaptive‑reuse projects for government or public‑sector clients.
• Strong understanding of accessibility (ADA) and life‑safety regulations.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and resolve technical conflicts.
