Architect – Structural Design (Civil & Military Projects)

About the role

The Structural Design Section is seeking a qualified Architect to lead planning, design, and construction of new, modified, and upgraded civil and military works projects. This role ensures all features comply with State, Federal, USACE, and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design, and construct civil works such as flood control, hydropower, fish passage, and recreational facilities.
• Design military works including office buildings, housing, storage warehouses, and specialized shops.
• Develop design scopes, criteria, and optimum solutions when codes do not provide precedent.
• Review and coordinate drawings from engineers, architects, A/E firms, and other districts.
• Prepare technical specifications and construction documents using CAD software.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Ability to travel on temporary duty (approximately 15% of time).
• Successful background investigation and suitability determination.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in architecture or related field meeting specific coursework requirements, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software for creating construction documents.
