Architect – Public Agency Projects

About the role

Bradford Construction, a BRAVO Group company, is seeking an experienced Architect to support a NYC public‑agency client. Based in Long Island City, Queens, the role will initially be onsite with the option to move to a hybrid schedule after 90 days.

Key responsibilities

• Develop test fits and feasibility studies for new buildings and vertical additions, including architectural and structural analysis.
• Analyze land‑use regulations, NYC Construction Codes and the NYC Zoning Resolution for proposed sites.
• Conduct site observations, prepare field reports and present findings to interdisciplinary committees.
• Provide technical assistance to Real Estate, Legal and Capital Plan Management during developer negotiations.
• Engage with developers and stakeholders in pre‑design meetings for mixed‑use projects.
• Perform scope and design reviews for new and renovation projects across all phases.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, contractors and government agencies.
• Assist in developing new design standards and procedures while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Required profile

• Architect with experience supporting public‑agency projects in New York City.
• Strong knowledge of NYC zoning, construction codes and land‑use regulations.
• Ability to produce detailed feasibility studies and technical reports.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
