Architect II – New York

About the role

EwingCole, a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, interior design and planning firm, is seeking an ambitious Architect II to join its New York office. The role involves leading small to medium‑scale projects, supervising a modest team, and delivering high‑quality design and construction documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and enhance design intent while preparing construction documents.
• Supervise small and medium‑size teams of architects, technicians and interns.
• Manage production and delivery of construction documents for assigned projects.
• Assist marketing leaders in preparing design presentations and material.
• Develop code‑compliant schematic and design‑development solutions in collaboration with project managers.
• Coordinate with engineering, civil, landscape and interior disciplines to ensure consistent project development.
• Prepare specifications, technical requirements, and construction‑phase design directives.
• Participate in submittal responses, shop‑drawing reviews, site visits and prepare related reports.
• Mentor architecture interns and perform additional duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Architecture degree.
• Registered architect status.
• Experience leading small to medium‑scale projects and supervising junior staff.
• Strong understanding of design development, construction documentation, and code compliance.
