Architect – Custom Residential Design

About the role

We are seeking an Architect (or Senior Architectural Designer) to join our Missoula‑based studio that creates high‑end custom homes in the Mountain West. The role offers full design ownership from schematic through construction documents, working closely with builders, engineers and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects through Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents.
• Develop and maintain high‑quality Revit models and drawing sets.
• Coordinate architectural intent with structural, civil and MEP consultants.
• Apply structural knowledge to inform layout, spans, systems and constructability.
• Collaborate with builders to ensure designs are practical, efficient and buildable.
• Participate in client presentations and design discussions.
• Maintain technical accuracy and attention to detail throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Registered Architect (RA/NCARB) or Senior Architectural Designer with custom residential experience.
• Strong technical capability and mastery of Revit.
• Excellent understanding of structural systems and construction processes.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of design solutions.
