Application Developer – JavaScript

About the role

Esri’s Geo Experience Center is looking for an Application Developer to create prototype web applications that showcase advanced cartography, map visualizations, and GIS experiences. You will work with JavaScript, TypeScript, and the ArcGIS Maps SDK to turn complex spatial data into interactive, browser‑based solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain prototype applications and proofs of concept using JavaScript, TypeScript, and the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
• Build user‑focused web experiences with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or Svelte.
• Experiment with emerging web visualization technologies, including WebGL, to deliver 2D, 3D, and multidimensional spatial visualizations.
• Collaborate with core development and SDK teams during release sprints, providing feedback on APIs, beta features, tools, and documentation.
• Stay current with best practices in coding, UI design, and development tools.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of professional experience developing web applications with JavaScript; TypeScript experience preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with one or more modern front‑end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Svelte).
• Familiarity with code management systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, GIS, or a related field.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally up to 25‑50%.
