Android Developer – Financial Services (New York)

About the role

Lab49 is seeking an Android Developer to join its New York team and build sophisticated mobile applications for financial‑services clients. You will work closely with product owners, designers, and engineers to deliver high‑quality solutions that solve complex business challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced Android applications for the financial services sector.
• Collaborate with leadership, product owners, designers, and technologists to prioritize features and ship software to enterprise and public app stores.
• Promote robust software architecture, engineering best practices, and adoption of new technologies.
• Break down complex problems into elegant, maintainable code solutions.
• Ensure code quality, reliability, and usability through test‑driven development and thorough testing.
• Identify and resolve defects, optimize performance, and improve application stability.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional Android development experience.
• At least two projects where you were a key contributor delivering a working Android app.
• Published at least one sophisticated Android application in a public or enterprise app store.
• Experience working with remote data via RESTful APIs and JSON.
• Proven ability to work in an Agile development environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
