Analyst I - Cyber Security

About the role

The Analyst I – Cyber Security joins the Global Security Operations Center (SOC) team to monitor security appliances, triage alerts, and support the overall cyber security program. This entry‑level position works closely with Level 2 SOC analysts and other team members to ensure timely detection and response to threats.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect security alerts, determining which require further analysis.
• Escalate relevant alerts to Level 2 SOC analysts.
• Manage the SOC mailbox, analyzing emails for phishing, malware, and other threats.
• Define, gather, and report metrics for all security systems.
• Assist with maintenance of assigned security systems following industry best practices.
• Participate in investigations of security violations and prepare intrusion reports as needed.
• Maintain awareness of current vulnerabilities, response, and mitigation strategies.
• Provide recurring reports for network and host‑based security solutions.

Required profile

• At least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
• Associate’s degree in Information Systems or related discipline preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board registration.
• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience configuring or working with IT systems (or equivalent education).
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to triage critical technical issues.
• Current, relevant industry certifications preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a global team.

Required skills

• Configuration and operation of information security applications.
• Hands‑on experience with security appliances and SOC monitoring tools.
• Phishing and malware detection and analysis.
• Understanding of encryption technologies.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, Internet traffic, and email protocols.
• Familiarity with IBM iSeries, Linux, and Microsoft Windows platforms.
• Ability to assess network activity and system configurations for anomalies.
