Algorithm Developer III (E3)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Algorithm Developer III to lead research, design, development, and implementation of advanced algorithmic modules for semiconductor imaging and metrology. You will work on cutting‑edge computer‑vision and deep‑learning solutions that enable next‑generation chip manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in computer vision, image processing, and deep‑learning algorithms for pattern recognition, metrology, and object detection.
• Prototype algorithmic approaches to solve complex problems and integrate new solutions into products.
• Optimize algorithms to reduce computational cost and influence hardware requirements.
• Perform feasibility studies, data gathering, literature review, and concept selection for image‑processing algorithms.

Required profile

• Strong background in computer vision, image processing, and deep‑learning technologies.
• Experience with GPU programming, CUDA, parallel computing, or HPC architectures.
• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 5+ years of experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
