Airfreight Import Agent

About the role

Shipco Transport Inc., a global NVOCC, is seeking an Airfreight Import Agent for its Houston branch. The role involves managing inbound air cargo, ensuring compliance with customs, and providing top‑level customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate air import shipments from origin to destination.
• Prepare and manage customs documentation and related paperwork.
• Communicate with customers, agents, brokers, and airlines to resolve issues.
• Monitor shipments, address exceptions, and ensure timely delivery.
• Handle billing, operational accuracy, and cost calculations.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in airfreight cargo operations.
• Pro‑active, dynamic, reliable, and comfortable working in a global, multi‑time‑zone environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented and able to make independent decisions.
• Commercial or sales experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Airfreight operations knowledge.
• Understanding of US Customs regulations.
• Familiarity with IATA regulations and AWB handling.
• Knowledge of INCO terms and cost calculation methods.
