Aircraft Technician B – Paint Preparation (Contract)

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking an Aircraft Technician B on a contract basis to join the paint team at its Columbus, Mississippi facility. The role focuses on preparing aircraft components for painting and applying primer and paint to helicopters and sub‑assemblies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by sanding, masking, filling and washing prior to painting.
• Apply taping to areas where paint must not be applied.
• Prime and paint aircraft structures and sub‑assemblies.
• Minimise scrap and maintain shop cleanliness according to lead instructions.
• Operate production tools such as hydraulic lifts and basic office equipment.

Required profile

• At least six months of experience in surface preparation or painting of industrial, automotive or aviation products.
• Ability to follow directives for surface preparation and layout taping.
• Physical ability to see computer screens, hear safety warnings, speak clearly and lift moderate loads.
• Aviation paint experience preferred but not mandatory.
