Aircraft Support Mechanic

About the role

The Aircraft Support Mechanic (ASM) is an entry‑level TechOps position at Delta Air Lines. Working on the flight‑line, you will help keep Delta’s fleet safe and reliable, supporting both interior and systems maintenance while gaining hands‑on experience alongside seasoned Aircraft Maintenance Technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections to identify damage, wear or defects that could affect safety or customer experience.
• Report issues, recommend repairs or replacements, and document findings in maintenance logs.
• Test machinery, components and equipment for defects using hand tools, gauges and testing equipment.
• Install, remove or modify aircraft structures, systems or components following drawings, schematics and engineering orders.
• Repair worn or damaged parts such as seat gears, tray tables, wiring and electrical components.
• Troubleshoot equipment or system problems by interpreting discrepancies, logs and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate repair records and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English.
• Current satisfactory performance in present position (for internal transfers).
• Commitment to privacy and safety standards.

Required skills

• Use of hand tools, gauges and testing equipment.
• Interpretation of technical manuals, schematics, drawings and engineering orders.
• Aircraft inspection and component repair.
• Troubleshooting of aircraft interior systems.
