Aircraft Mechanic - F-16 Ejection Seat Maintenance Technician

About the role

Amentum is hiring an F-16A/B/C or D Aircraft Mechanic (AME) specializing in egress systems. The technician performs organizational, intermediate and limited depot-level maintenance, including inspection, testing, repair, modification and troubleshooting, and provides technical guidance to others. Work is usually in a hangar, shop or flight-line environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the egress system on and off equipment for F-16A/B/C/D aircraft, including ejection seats, seat harnesses, explosive items, canopy devices, OBOGS/LOX and environmental systems
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, corrosion control and operate GSE, tow tractors and other support equipment
• Annotate maintenance actions in aircraft forms and VIDS/MAF, order parts and supervise aircraft movement and FOD prevention
• Train contractor personnel and maintain seat/cockpit safety checkout records

Required profile

• Graduate of the Air Force F-16A/B/C or D Aircrew Egress System Specialist Technical School or equivalent ejection seat course
• At least 2 years of recent ejection seat maintenance and 2 years of egress system repair experience
• F-16A/B/C or D aircraft maintenance experience
• Valid state driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government clearance (US citizenship required)
• Previous military members must provide a DD214 with an honorable discharge
• Ability to work all shifts and schedules, and to lift objects up to 70 pounds

Required skills

• Qualified on ground support equipment and familiar with Navy technical publications
• In-depth knowledge of maintenance manuals, publications, special tools and test equipment
• Preferred: hazardous waste communication, FOD/TCP awareness, COMNAIRFORINST 4790.2, ISO 9001-2000, NALCOMIS/OOMA, ESD, tow tractor and aircraft towing certifications, ORM training, fuel surveillance and engine run training
