Airborne Sensor Operator

About the role

We are looking for experienced Airborne Sensor Operators to support remote‑sensing missions for the US Army Geospatial Center on the HR3DGI program. Operators will fly on multi‑position aircraft, collect wide‑area data, and ensure sensor performance during both CONUS and OCONUS deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain GPS, radio communication gear, mIRC, TDCL, LiDAR and electro‑optical sensors in flight and on the ground.
• Participate in mission planning, execution, briefings, debriefings and safety procedures.
• Collect, analyze and verify tactical and wide‑area mapping data for accuracy and quality.
• Log sensor health, generate degradation reports and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
• Provide leadership, mentorship and goal setting for small teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of sensor operating experience (or 6 years directly relevant experience).
• US citizen with an active Top Secret clearance.
• In‑depth knowledge of HR3DGI remote‑sensing operations and ability to manage people and processes.
• Willingness to deploy for 2‑3 month rotations and work on leave without pay during non‑deployment periods.
