Air Logistics Trucking Specialist

About the role

As an Air Logistics Trucking Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel you will ensure domestic transportation activities for import and export air‑freight are executed accurately, efficiently and on time, supporting customers across key markets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate trucking activities for import and export air‑freight shipments to meet on‑time execution and customer satisfaction.
• Manage local Pickup & Delivery (P&D) operations, moving freight between customers, terminals, warehouses and airport gateways.
• Execute regional dispatch tasks, including route planning, carrier assignments and capacity management.
• Build and optimise truck loads through consolidation to maximise efficiency and reduce costs.
• Oversee Full Truckload (FTL), Less‑than‑Truckload (LTL) and final‑mile transportation activities.
• Monitor shipments throughout the lifecycle, proactively resolving disruptions, delays and exceptions.
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, warehouses, gateways and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless freight movement.
• Negotiate rates, source capacity and maintain strong relationships with approved transportation providers.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, operational procedures and company standards.
• Maintain accurate transportation documentation, shipment records and data in transportation management systems.
• Analyse carrier performance and escalate service failures, capacity concerns or operational risks.
• Partner with Customer Care, Operations, Sales and Warehouse teams to support customer requirements and account implementation.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and contribute to operational‑efficiency projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in trucking operations, dispatch, load planning, pickup & delivery coordination, regional transportation or final‑mile execution.
• Strong understanding of air‑freight logistics and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with carriers, drivers, warehouses and internal teams.
• Ability to analyse data, resolve issues quickly and maintain high service standards.
