Air Logistics Operational Care Specialist

About the role

As an Air Logistics Operational Care Specialist you will join Kuehne+Nagel’s Freight Forwarding team to ensure shipments are coordinated accurately and on time, supporting the delivery of medicines, toys, and critical machine parts worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Execute bookings with carriers and gateways, generate required documentation, and monitor shipments end‑to‑end.
• Handle deviations, provide timely updates in Kuehne+Nagel systems, and report operational issues to supervisors.
• Liaise with Customer Care specialists to meet transit‑time, carrier‑selection, and routing requirements.
• Secure buy rates and capacity with qualified partners, ensuring compliance with air‑transport regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with partners, warehouses, customs teams, and the RCC to maintain smooth operations.
• Monitor carrier performance, escalate gaps, and work with the Optimization Team to automate processes and reduce manual work.
• Contribute to cost‑optimization initiatives and process‑improvement projects.
• Support Sales and Customer Care during account implementation for seamless handover.

Required profile

• Experience in freight forwarding or logistics, preferably in air logistics (minimum 1 year).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management abilities.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on teamwork and accountability.
