AI Platform Engineer, Backend

About the role

Brain Co. is building AI‑native operating systems for large, regulated institutions. As a Backend Engineer you will own the end‑to‑end systems that power our AI platform, delivering reliable, production‑grade infrastructure for enterprise and government customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, deploy, and maintain core backend services and APIs (REST, gRPC, event‑driven).
• Build modular, reusable components that meet strict uptime and security expectations.
• Continuously profile and optimize latency, throughput, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with Product, ML, Infrastructure, and customer‑facing teams to create intuitive, developer‑friendly systems.
• Own service reliability, including observability, incident response, and long‑term maintenance.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building production systems with strong fundamentals in distributed systems.
• Deep proficiency in Go, TypeScript, Rust, Python, or similar languages.
• Proven ability to design from first principles and deliver shared infrastructure or developer‑facing services.
• Experience with uptime responsibility, observability tooling, and incident response.
• Track record of designing and operating APIs and services at scale.
