AI Datacenter Electrical / High Voltage Construction Manager

About the role

Bitdeer, a Bitcoin mining and AI cloud technology company, is seeking an AI Datacenter Electrical / High Voltage Construction Manager to lead delivery of high-voltage and electrical infrastructure for its AI data center builds. Reporting to the VP, Data Center Construction, the role covers electrical construction from utility interconnection and on-site substation through medium-voltage distribution, the power train, and data hall power delivery, through energization and commissioning. Candidates must be based in one of the listed locations, primarily in Texas and Ohio, and work on site as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage construction of on-site HV substations, including power transformers, breakers, protection and control, and grounding.
• Coordinate interconnection, outage planning, and energization milestones with utilities and transmission providers, and plan staged energization sequences.
• Oversee installation of MV and LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS, batteries, generators, busway, and PDUs/RPPs.
• Manage electrical contractors for safety, quality, productivity and schedule, and track long-lead equipment from factory witness testing through delivery and termination.
• Verify installation against drawings, specifications, NEC and manufacturer requirements, and coordinate NETA acceptance testing, relay testing and protection coordination studies.
• Support Level 1-5 commissioning and resolve electrical issues and punch-list items.
• Enforce NFPA 70E, arc-flash, LOTO and energized-work procedures, review and approve methods of procedure, and ensure accurate single-line diagrams, as-builts and arc-flash labeling.

Required profile

• 10+ years in electrical construction for data centers, utilities or heavy industrial projects, including HV substations.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience (e.g., licensed electrician with progressive leadership).
• Professional certification such as PE, a journeyman or master electrician license, or OSHA 30-Hour.
• Experience with high-density AI/HPC power distribution and rapid power ramps.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with HV substations, MV switchgear and utility interconnections.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE and NETA standards.
• Experience with data center power trains: switchgear, UPS, generators, battery systems and busway.
