Agriculture Inspector 3 – Hemp Inspector

About the role

The Georgia Department of Agriculture is seeking an Agriculture Inspector 3 – Hemp Inspector to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing hemp cultivation, processing, and sales. This position involves on‑site inspections, regulatory guidance, and collaboration with industry stakeholders to protect and promote Georgia’s hemp industry.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of hemp retail locations and growing facilities.
• Verify that hemp products meet THC limits, labeling, and packaging standards.
• Review and confirm licensing for growers, processors, wholesalers, and retailers.
• Document inspection findings, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay current on regulatory updates and communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Participate in industry meetings, conferences, and workshops.
• Collaborate with law‑enforcement and other regulatory agencies to uphold industry integrity.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections.

Required skills

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal hemp regulations.
• Experience conducting field inspections.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and preparing reports.
