Agricultural Intelligence Research Faculty – Non‑Tenure Track

About the role

The LSU AgCenter is investing in a new Agricultural Intelligence (AI) Research Initiative to deliver cutting‑edge technological solutions for Louisiana agriculture. The faculty member will work at the intersection of agriculture, data science, engineering, economics, and human health, leading independent research programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop fully funded, independent research programs addressing critical challenges such as soil health, land and water management, and crop genetics.
• Advance precision and digital agriculture, invasive species management, and livestock production.
• Lead investigations into nutrition, food safety, biofuels, and bioproducts.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and mentor junior researchers.
• Secure extramural funding and contribute to the strategic vision of LSU Agriculture.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent in an agriculture‑related discipline with a proven record of extramural funding.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and computational abilities.
• Willingness to build a self‑sustaining research program after an initial two‑year funding period.
