Afterschool Instructor – Elementary Grades

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Afterschool Instructor to join our after‑school program for Kindergarten through 5th‑grade students at PS 166 The Richard Rodgers School of The Arts and Technology. This part‑time role offers the chance to inspire young learners while gaining valuable experience in a top‑rated public school.

Key responsibilities

• Engage and motivate students during class time and transitions.
• Collaborate with school staff to monitor student progress and behavior.
• Communicate program updates and student matters to management.
• Use digital platforms for attendance, incident reporting, and other administrative tasks.
• Maintain organized learning supplies and promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program (or a completed degree in Education).
• At least 6 months of experience working with elementary‑age children.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional appearance.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to set clear expectations.
• Team‑oriented mindset suitable for a school setting.
